International Eco Tourism Conference & Eco Expo 2000
Dec. 13, 2000 - Dec. 20, 2000
The Mexican Riviera Maya will host an International Eco Tourism Conference
taking place December 13-20, 2000. The Conference is hosted by the Riviera
Maya Promotional Trust (Fideicomiso) and the Sidek Hotels and will take
place at the Continental Plaza Playacar Hotel.
The Conference will bring together people from the Hotel Industry, Travel
Agents, Tour Operators, as well as owners of Rafting services, Ecoparks,
Caving and others. Joining are local enviromentalists groups, GEMA and
TERRA, to partcipate in the Conference and round tables on EcoTourism.
Speakers will come from Mexico, Central and South America to address a
variety of topics linked to the new Alternative Tourism and Eco Tourism
markets taking root in Mexico. Conferences will feature talks on Xcaret,
Sian Kaan, Veracruz and the Rivers, The Costa Rican rain forest with round
tables on marketing for the future; the Modern and Conservative Eco Tourism
and more.
The Conference will also host the Eco Expo 2000, showcasing Destinations,
Tour Operations, Marketing Services and the new technology. Mexican States
Representatives in the Eco Expo 2000 will come from Veracruz, Oaxaca,
Chiapas, Yucatan and, of course, Quintana Roo.
