The Sustainable Economics Development Unit (SEDU)for Small Island
Developing States (SIDS) announces its annual conference which is
chock full with information focusing on three critical areas of
importance to the sustainable economic development of Caribbean
islands.
The conference on June 14 and 15 in the Conference Room, Institute
For Social And Economic Studies at University Of The West Indies, St.
Augustine Campus, Trinidad And Tobago will focus on (1) Priorities
for Environmental Management, (2) Economics and the marine
environment (3) Sustainable Tourism: Greening of Tourism/Adaptation
to Climate Change.
Speakers and topics are:
1. Winston Rennie: Impact of Sewage-Based Pollution
2. Dennis Pantin: Methodology for determining priorities for
environmental management and application to Trinidad and Tobago
3. John Agard: Ecological vulnerability index for Trinidad and Tobago
as an alternative methodology for deriving priorities
