CAST IMPROVES AND EXPANDS WEB-BASED COMMUNICATIONS
San Juan, Puerto Rico (November 26, 2003) - The Caribbean Alliance for
Sustainable Tourism (CAST) is refreshing its image on the web while
improving communication with a newly redesigned and updated website,
www.cha-cast.com, and with the re-launch of BroadCAST, the
organization's newsletter.

"Our redesigned website offers a much clearer and better organized lay
out. It is meant to act as a one-stop source of information on
sustainable tourism issues in the region for hoteliers, travel agents,
visitors and all stakeholders alike", says Deirdre Shurland, Director of
CAST.

The website features information about the organization's structure and
services, as well as about affiliate certification programs, such as
Green Globe 21, and provides access to the most recent press releases
about the organization's activities and programs. The CAST bookshelf of
publications is listed, with brief descriptions and until January 16th,
customers can benefit from a 20% discount on regular publication prices.
The website also presents detailed information on the new volunteer and
internship programs offered by CAST. In the near future, the website
will be available in Spanish and it will feature increased
functionalities.

The BroadCAST, will be re-launched January 15th, 2004, and will be sent
by e-mail to CHA members, as well as posted on the CAST website. To be
included in the mailing list, send an e-mail to
jdohrmann@caribbeanhotels.org, with "Subscribe BroadCAST" in the subject
line. "The newsletter's main objective is to achieve a higher level of
recognition for the countries, cities, hotels and people who are making
substantial efforts in the area of sustainable tourism. This is an
important part of CAST's mission and is sure to contribute to an
increased awareness among travelers", said Deirdre Shurland .
Consequently, BroadCAST will showcase sustainable Caribbean
destinations, green hotels and other industry leaders , highlighting
their achievements. The BroadCAST will also provide industry news and
will feature selected letters submitted by readers.
