The publication's department of Mexico's National Institute of Ecology (INE)
has asked me to put online Fernando Vargas Marquez' book on the National Parks
of Mexico. This work is entirely in Spanish and is an excellent resource for
anyone interested in park management. On a personal note, I still have the
author's first edition (1984) as one of my prized belongings and am *very*
happy to be able to bring this new, expanded version online via
