The Dominican Republic is proud to host the first
CARIBBEAN-UNITED STATES FORUM ON TRADE &
INVESTMENT on March 16 to 18, 1999. Meet entrepreneurs and
governmental officials from the Caribbean and the United States who
are already reaping the benefits of favorable business conditions in
the region. The Caribbean-United States Forum on Trade &
Investment offers an excellent occasion to join other business,
industrial, academic and political leaders.
The main objectives are to analyze and discuss trends in global
trading patterns, negotiations and regional policies; to increase
awareness among business leaders about cutting edge technological
development as well as to demonstrate the latest business technology
innovations, capabilities and opportunities for investment and
joint-venturing in the region.
The Forum provides a unique opportunity to access information and
networking, both key in establishing global presence and obtaining
high profits and enhanced competitiveness.Preferential access to
markets along with consistent economic growth, combined with
domestic policy reforms, has opened up significant trade and
investment opportunities within the region.
Representatives from the following sectors: telecommunications,
computers and information technology, tourism, electronics, high
technology manufacturing, transportation and infrastructure
development will be presented. Government officials will introduce
investment opportunities for specific infrastructure projects.
The Forum will be celebrated along with several collateral events,
which include an International Trade & Investment Fair, the
American Chamber of Commerce Expo International ’99 and the DR
Investment Invitational Golf Tournament
